Spurs recorded their first win of 2016 as they dispatched a poor Sunderland side 4-1 at White Hart Lane.

Sunderland initially took the lead, when Van Aanholt fired past Lloris after his run was picked up by Dele Alli. But their lead wasn’t to last long, as the ball found it’s way to Christian Eriksen on the edge of the Sunderland penalty area and he fired the ball into the net despite the best efforts of Lee Cattermole to clear the ball.

The second half saw Spurs score three goals and put the game to bed. The first came through Mousa Dembele. with the second coming from a rejuvenated Christian Eriksen who played better than he has done for a long time and with Harry Kane then scoring a penalty to make it 4-1.
