Mauricio Pochettino rested the likes of Hugo Lloris, Kyle Walker, Toby Alderweireld and Dele Alli and gave opportunities to the likes of Michel Vorm, Nabil Bentaleb, Kevin Wimmer and Kieran Trippier to impress.
Goals from Nacer Chadli, Tom Carroll and a deflected strike from Eric Dier ensured Tottenham progressed, despite an own goal from Ben Davies in the second half.
