Tottenham secured a vital victory at the Etihad, as they beat Manchester City and firmly established themselves as title contenders. A Harry Kane penalty along with a goal from Christian Eriksen was enough to secure all three points for Spurs, despite Iheanacho scoring in the 74th minute to equalize for the home side.
The first half didn’t see any clear-cut chances created for either side, as City lacked a cutting edge up front and Spurs failed to get the ball forward enough often leaving Harry Kane isolated and feeding off scraps up front.

However, that all changed in the second half when Spurs were awarded a penalty after Danny Rose’s cross was handballed by Raheem Sterling. Harry Kane stepped up and fired past Hart to give the visitors the lead. However, City would soon find themselves level, when Kelechi Iheanacho slotted home from a Gael Clichy cross.
Despite all the pressure coming from the home side as they searched for a late winner, it would be Spurs who scored the late winner when Erik Lamela played a fantastic pass through to Eriksen, who slotted past Joe Hart with ease. The home side applied relentless pressure late on, but Lloris was more than a match for Aguero and co, as he pulled off save after save and ensured that the three points return to North London.
The result means that Spurs move back up into second place, ahead of Arsenal on goal difference and only two points behind Leicester.
