A superb all round Tottenham performance ensured that the Lilywhites closed the gap to five points on Leicester City.
In a match that Tottenham needed to win to keep their title hopes alive, they flew out of the blocks and were ahead in just over 40 seconds thanks to Harry Kane after he converted Kyle Walker’s low cross.
Spurs continued to press and attack Bournemouth and Pochettino’s side had their second 15 minutes later. It was Kane once again with the goal, after Dele Alli played him on goal and the England forward once again applied the finishing touch.
Kane’s double meant that Spurs headed into the half-time break 2-0 up, with no sign of a Bournemouth comeback with the visitors still reeling from Kane’s incredibly early goal.

It wasn’t long into the second half that Spurs had the game sewn up, with Eriksen grabbing the third of the afternoon, after Boruc could only parry Kane’s 25-yard drive leaving Eriksen to tap the ball home into an empty net.
Bournemouth did at least attempt to get back into the game in the second half, but it was all too little too late for the visitors with Spurs adequately dealing with any threat Bournemouth posed.

Dembele, Alli and Kane in particular, all put in fantastic performances, with Kane being the first player to reach the 20 goal landmark this season.
With the gap now closed to five points, Spurs will have to now wait two weeks, due to the international break, before they can attempt to make inroads on that deficit when they face Liverpool at Anfield.
