Tottenham sent scouts to watch Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi during Marseille’s match against Rennas, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
Spurs are currently searching for a second striker as back-up for Harry Kane, with Clinton N’Jie ineffective during his initial months as a Spurs player before his injury, whilst Son cannot be relied upon for a long period of time if Kane suffers a serious injury.
Batshuayi joined Marseille in the summer of 2014, after beginning his career with Belgian club Standard Leige, where he scored 37 goals in 97 appearances. During his time in France, Batshuayi has scored 22 goals in 51 games.
Batshuayi has also made his mark at international level, including scoring on his debut for Belgium in a Euro 2016 qualifier against Cyprus in March 2015, whilst he also scored in his second appearance for the Belgian national side, during a friendly against Italy in November 2015.
If Tottenham want to secure the services of Batshuayi in the summer, they will have to move quickly with a number of Premier League clubs interested in securing his signature, including Arsenal, West Ham and Southampton.
Would Batshuayi be a good signing for Spurs?
