Our Spurs man of the match: Dortmund (H)

Tottenham Hotspur kicked off their Champions League campaign with an impressive 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men were electric in the first-half as they scored two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead, with Yarmolenko equalising for Dortmund between the goals.

Heung-Min Son opened the scoring. The winger raced through to the edge of the penalty area before making space and hitting a shot into the roof of the net at Burki’s near-post.

Yarmolenko then curled in a beauty to equalise minutes later. The former Kiev winger found the top corner from the edge of the area.

Harry Kane soon put Spurs back in front. He burst into the box and unleashed a similar strike to Son, firing the ball into the top corner of Burki’s near-post.

Kane then sealed the win in the second-half with his second. Eriksen found Kane in the box, who then fired the ball into the bottom right corner from just inside the box.

Jan Vertonghen was controversially sent off for a flailing arm on Mario Gotze, which was one of few negatives for Spurs.

Picking a man of the match has been easy. Our Spurs man of the match against Dortmund is… Harry Kane!

Two goals and an assist for the England international highlighted just how important he was to the win.

He led the line well and took his goals with precision and power, excellent performance.
