Spurs to battle Arsenal for the signature of Andre Gomes

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, who could be available this summer for €40m, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The north London clubs look set to have a bidding war for the Barcelona ace, who is open to moving away from the Camp Nou this summer in search of regular game time.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to strengthen his midfield and with the future of Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele hanging in the balance, Pochettino has identified Gomes as the ideal replacement.

The Spanish La Liga champions have valued the Portuguese at €40m and are ready to listen to offers.

Gomes is looking to get his career back on track after failing to impress since his move from Valencia to Barcelona two seasons ago.

His poor run of form meant that he was left out of the Portugal squad for the World Cup this summer in Russia but Pochettino is confident that he can get the best out of him.
