Tottenham to raid Ajax in January for De Jong

Tottenham Hotspur may turn their attention to Ajax in the January transfer window as they look to sign a successor to Mousa Dembele, Playing for 90 reports.

Spurs are reportedly scouting Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong and could be set to make a move for him in January.

Barcelona have also been strongly linked with the Dutch midfielder and could be set to rival Spurs for his signature.

Tottenham are used to purchasing young talent from the Dutch giants with current Spurs players Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld all worked their way up at the Eredivisie giants.

De Jong is valued at £40million and could be willing to leave Ajax should they be dumped out of the Champions League early this season.

Spurs failed to add to their squad over the summer could be set for an active January transfer window in order to boost their bid for the Premier League title.
