Spurs set to make another Grealish approach this summer

Tottenham Hotspur will reignite their interest in Aston Villa star Jack Grealish having failed with a £25m move last summer.

That’s according to the Mirror, who report that Spurs will face competition from Premier League rivals AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United for his signature.

The 23-year-old has made that number of Championship appearances for the Villains this season, scoring four times.

One of those goals came in the infamous second city derby against Birmingham City at St. Andrews earlier this month, in which Grealish was attacked by a home supporter.

The winger has been held in high regard for some years now, although he is yet to make his top-flight bow.

England manager Gareth Southgate says that is something preventing him from being selected for the national team, so the playmaker will surely be keen to secure a move sooner rather than later.

Villa themselves could still earn promotion this season as they currently occupy the final playoff place with eight matches of the season to play.

The fact that Grealish signed a new five-year deal after the Spurs move collapsed last year could prove a sticking point in negotiations.
