Luka Vuskovic Subject of Improved £45m Brighton Bid to Tottenham

Brighton have made an improved £45m package offer to Tottenham Hotspur for Luka Vuskovic, with the Croatia international understood to be keen on the move.

The 19-year-old centre-back is back in the transfer spotlight after Spurs strengthened Roberto De Zerbi’s defensive options with Jan Paul Van Hecke and Marcos Senesi. Vuskovic spent last season on loan at Hamburg, is currently with Croatia at the World Cup, and played in the 4-2 defeat to England on Wednesday.

The fresh proposal, which includes add-ons, was reported by Sky Sports News in its latest Tottenham transfer update.

Vuskovic decision now sits at the centre of Tottenham’s defensive rebuild

The timing matters because Tottenham’s centre-back picture has changed quickly. Van Hecke has arrived from Brighton in a £52m deal, while Senesi has also joined this summer, leaving Vuskovic with a more complicated route to regular football.

If Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven remain, Vuskovic would be competing from deep in the pecking order despite his reputation as one of Europe’s most highly rated young defenders.

For Spurs, this is no longer just a routine loan-or-keep call. A £45m package would represent a major return on a player yet to establish himself in north London, but selling now would also mean letting Brighton take control of a defender Tottenham may still believe can become a long-term first-team asset.
