Spurs scout Celtic’s Tierney during Champions League defeat

Tottenham sent scouts to watch Celtic defender Kieran Tierney during their recent meeting with Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Daily Record report that the Premier League side have stepped up their interest as the young Scotsman continues to impress at Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers’ men fell to a 3-0 defeat in Germany on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich and Mats Hummels.

Tierney himself has attracted plenty of interest in the past with both Arsenal and Manchester United being linked with a move for the 20-year-old.

Spurs have been keeping close tabs on the player for some time, who could be viewed as a potential successor to Danny Rose, who is being linked with moves away from Tottenham.

Tierney has risen to prominence during Rodgers’ time at the club, making the full-back position his own, with his development not going unnoticed by some of the Premier League’s biggest sides.
