Pochettino eyes move for Watford forward Richarlison

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing up a move for Watford’s Brazilian forward Richarlison as the Spurs boss has been impressed with the start he has made to life in the Premier League, according to a report on the Evening Standard.

Richarlison only joined Watford last summer for £13m from the Brazilian league and there were concerns about whether he could adapt quickly to the pace of football in the English top flight.

Those concerns have been squashed as the skilful forward has managed to find the back of the net four times whilst also registering two assists in his opening 11 games in the league.

The 20-year-old can operate in the wide areas as well as behind the striker, where he can use his pace to get in behind the defenders.

Pochettino is keen to improve his attacking options in January and is weighing up a move, however, he knows it will be difficult for him to convince Watford to sell their key man.

If a January move doesn’t go through, the Spurs boss will try again in the summer after the World Cup.

Tottenham will continue to monitor the progress of the youngster and may even include a youngster of their own in the deal, with the name of Josh Onomah being mentioned.
