Tottenham Hotspur are not interested in signing Mason Greenwood from Marseille this summer, despite recent claims linking the forward with Roberto De Zerbi.
The 24-year-old has been mentioned in transfer speculation because he previously worked under De Zerbi in France, but Spurs are understood to have no plan to pursue a deal as the Italian continues reshaping his squad in north London.
According to a fresh update from Alasdair Gold for football.london, Tottenham are not interested in bringing Greenwood back to the Premier League, despite the Marseille forward being linked with a move.
Tottenham move on with De Zerbi rebuild
The timing matters because De Zerbi has already been central to a busy Spurs summer. Tottenham have made early defensive moves, with Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson all part of the wider rebuild after a difficult 2025/26 campaign.
Greenwood’s name would have carried obvious noise around the club, not least because of De Zerbi’s previous Marseille connection. For Tottenham supporters, the key point is that the latest reporting draws a clear line: Spurs are not working on the deal.
That leaves De Zerbi’s recruitment focus elsewhere as Tottenham try to build a cleaner, more stable squad for the new Premier League season now.
