Luka Vuskovic is reportedly prepared to submit a transfer request to force a Tottenham Hotspur exit after Brighton made a third offer worth £45m for the defender.
The 19-year-old Croatia international is at the World Cup, but his club future has sharpened quickly after Brighton’s latest move. According to a fresh update from The Standard, Spurs are weighing up the Seagulls’ offer while Vuskovic is keen to leave in search of regular football.
That matters because Roberto De Zerbi’s centre-back picture has changed fast. Tottenham have already added Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke this summer, leaving Vuskovic behind Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and the new arrivals in the immediate pecking order.
Tottenham now face a clear Vuskovic decision
Vuskovic’s stance gives Tottenham a difficult call. The fee is already significant for a teenager who has yet to establish himself in north London, but Spurs would also be selling one of Europe’s more highly rated young defenders to a Premier League rival.
His loan spell at Hamburg strengthened his reputation, and his Croatia involvement has only kept the spotlight on him. The reported willingness to push for a move now turns Brighton’s bid from background transfer interest into an immediate Spurs squad-management issue.
Tottenham can still reject the approach, but the pressure around Vuskovic’s pathway has clearly grown.
